Why would anyone be miserable and bored? When i'm between contracts I relax, play some golf, catch up with friends, relatives and pretty much do all the things I can't do whilst working. OK, if you're long term out of work I can imagine that's pretty grim but you once you do find a new contract, all that free time you had will seem like a dream...
