Lightbulb Online Self Assessment

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out how much I can pay myself before the end of the tax year without suffering an extra 25% income tax on dividends. Does anyone know if you are able to use HMRC's online self assessment return before the end of the tax year (i.e now) and plug in your expected income to see what / if any tax is due?

I find the calculation page really helpful but you only ever see this at the end of the online form, just before you're about to pay!

Thanks
Clive

Hi Clive, your accountant should be able to provide you with a simple spreadsheet to work this out. You can then play about with it. If not, drop me a PM with email address and will send to you.

I'll take a copy if there's one going spare! Can you PM me with it?

Thanks

Short answer....no.

Like uptonaccountants (.com) says, the sums are actually pretty simple to knock up on a spreadsheet. If uptonaccountants (.com) don't come up with the goods, send me a PM. I've probably got one or two spreadsheets knocking around that'll do the job for you.
