Default Searching for new Accountant/Accountancy Co ...

Hi all,

I'm having difficulty finding a good accountant/accountancy co. that can help me in my not-so-ordinary situation so this is a call for anyone who thinks they can do a good fair job for me and are experienced with my situation somewhat. I'm currently with a UK Accountacy company that I'm now finding is a bit out of it's depth to handle the situation I'm in (even though their advice got me in it initially).

I left the UK last year and am temporarily residing in South Africa. I setup the Ltd co through them just before I left and have been working for a single UK client since then. The plan was that this temporary arrangement was only meant to last for <6 months and then I would return back to my home country Australia at which point the Ltd co would be wound down or made dormant and everything would be fine & legal taxwise. However, the plan's changed now and I'm staying in SA for a little bit longer (no more than a year). After seeking much advice here in SA I've discovered that I need to start paying tax here in SA and I wish to keep running the UK Ltd co for this time as it's the better option than setting up shop here in SA.

So I'm looking for an accountant/accountancy co that can handle the UK side of things. That is:
* checking/changing my UK Ltd co. setup so that it's legal whilst I (the director) who has permanently left the UK resides (albeit temporarily) in SA
* informing HMRC of my status and getting any tax credit/rebate for SA revenue service
* finding the most effective tax efficient way forward for me given that I will be closing down the Ltd co in the next year or so (for example I've just read about ESC16)
* handling the normal accounting of my Ltd co (invoices, quarterly statements, tax return etc)

So I'm after someone who can instill confidence in me that you can handle my situation. I've gone through numerous enquiries that have ended nowhere once they've realised how out-of-the-norm my situation is and (I guess) how I won't be a cost-effective client worthy of their time.

Any tips/pointers/advice will be much appreciated.

Hi,

Tip number 1.

If you don't want to be labelled as a spammer, don't use your gmail account as your user name.

I hope this helps
