New Expenses Guidelines

For all those working in the industry, I thought I'd let you know that HMRC have today produced an updated version of their expenses guidelines.

"HMRC has today launched a new A to Z of expenses and benefits. The updated format makes it easier for employers to check their tax, NICs and reporting requirements for each type of expense or benefit, by bringing the key information together in one place. Each page also links to the relevant technical manuals for anyone needing very detailed information.

If you have bookmarked pages in the previous expenses and benefits guidance, you will be automatically redirected to the new expenses and benefits pages in the majority of cases."

HM Revenue & Customs:

I've already tagged this in my favourites so the next time I get one of my daily "can I claim for buying a microwave, I think it's for business use?" questions, I can simply refer Mr Ignorant to the HMRC site.
