Default Budget Bets

As the self titled 'Dodgy Dave', I take it upon myself to offer odds on the upcoming Budget. I was reading the BBC website and was shocked by the fantastic odds thet both William Hill and Ladbrokes were offerring:

Alistair Darling to Wear a Red Tie: 7/4
Black Tie: 25/1
Speach to last between 46 and 50 minutes: 7/2

Ladbrokes are also offering odds on certain words being said during the speach. William Hill are offering odds of 5/1 for Daling to say 'Sorry', whereas Ladbrokes have offered a price of 7/1.

Amoung the other words being offered are:

Climate Change 1/5
G20 1/4
Low Carbon 1/4
Recovery 1/4
Stamp Duty 1/3
Difficult Times 1/2
Recession 1/2
Real Help 1/2
Downturn 4/7
Fiscal Stimulus 4/7
Value For Money 4/7
Slowdown 4/6
Tax Haven evens
IMF 6/4
Quantitative Easing 5/2
Credit Crunch 3/1
Depression 10/1
Hard Working Families 5/1
Obama 5/1
Green Shoots 6/1
Golden Rule 7/1
Sorry 7/1
Boom and Bust 20/1
Election 20/1
Gambling 25/1
Bathplug 100/1

Any other bets that people would like to see? I for one think the phrase 'investment in our future' should be worth a punt.

Dodgy Daves Tip of the day: Stick a tenner on 'Depression' being said. 10/1 at Ladbrokes.

£20 on 'Credit Crunch' seems a safe bet.

Just found out that ladbrokes are not offering accumulator bets on the budget. I wanted some money on 'Credit Crunch' and 'Depression'.

If i bet and win enough, i think I will be able to offset the inevitable rise in VAT for a little while#1

just visited ladbrokes and I have the following bets:

Depression (£55 return)
Downturn (£3.14)
Difficult Times (£4.50)

Best opening line from Darling- 'In these difficult times of economic downturn and the worst depression to hit the UK for several generations...'

Money in the bank!

wow - after 4 days of solid stress I’m actually quite looking forward to the Darling speech. I'm feeling that silly I'm may even have a flutter myself. What about, "Here in the UK, we value the huge economic and fiscal benefits that UK freelancers bring to our economy. I have decided, after almost 10 years in the making, to scrap the intermediaries’ legislation or what has commonly been known as IR35"
