Talking Google Street View

anyone got a view on this? According to the boys over at Britain’s information commissioner it poses absolutely no intrusion into people's lives. I know a guy, who knows a guy, who's mate's brother (I think thats the daisy chain) is caught on camera sat in his own front room semi naked watching telly.

No intrusion of privacy my @rse....

Personally I think it absolutely brilliant! There's nothing wrong with a bit of light hearted intrusion, never hurt anyone in my book - just ask the king of 'S&M' Max Mosley.

There's no harm in it. They don't show you anything you can't see from a public highway. If someone chooses to be semi-naked at their window in full view of the pavement that's their problem.

Didn't some residents in Milton Keynes say it would facilitate crime? ****ing cretins, any self-respecting thief would walk down the street anyway (not that I'm an expert)

I think that if you do not want your image or property shown on Google Street View, you can request it be removed. I think I read that some guy who was photographed walking out of a strip club did it.

Surely, removing your property from street view is make burglars more interested in what you're trying to hide?

Why, did you not realise she was working in there that night?

I love it... used it to plan a route from my hotel in an unfamilar part of London I had to visit for a client meeting last week - I was able to quickly check some landmarks to look out for that helped guide me to the correct building right in the middle of the city.

The chap coming out of the sex shop should look at it this way - in real life his face doesn't get automatically blurred as he exits the store in full public view.

I think it's great as well. I found myself wandering around the suburbs of Norwich on it the other day. It was quite therapeutic.

I saw one of the Google cars on the M1 last week. Unfortunately I was travelling in the other direction (at exactly 70mph), so I doubt I'll find myself.
