Fact is, if you come around a bend and are surprised by a cyclist, you're going too fast and you need to work on your driving awareness.

Before you criticise all cyclists, see what it's like to be on the bike:

The Cycling Lawyer: "What's that camera doing on your head?"

I think you need to read up on what vehicle excise duty is for. It is NOT to pay for roads, and hasn't been since 1937.
Tell me Bez, how much driving do you actually do at the moment? Do you commute to the office? If so, how far is it and how long does it take?

"Before you criticise all cyclists, see what it's like to be on the bike"

Frankly. I don't give a rats @rse what it's like to be on the bike. Never have and never will my law-spouting little friend.

FACT #1: cyclists are, most of the time, a royal pain in the backside. My point was simply to highlight the fact that in my honest opinion they should be banned from the roads during certain 'rush-hour' periods.

FACT #2: They create more congestion, frustration and road rage that anything else out there.

Now stick that in your spokes and smoke it

What next? Banning people who drive too slowly?

How do you feel when you're stuck behind a learner driver SMG? Are you one of those people that say "shouldn't they have an off road area they can learn to drive?"

The problem most drivers have is that they believe the road was invented just for them.

Christ, if it's congested at rush hour and you're not moving very fast, just how much are cyclists getting in your way? You really think that that congestion is caused by cyclists? Get a grip, that's already a front runner in the "most moronic comment on the forum this year" award.

So I guess what we can conclude from this thread is that YES, cyclists ARE a total pain in the @rse on the road. They're selfish, ignorant, stupid, and do nothing other than offend in their skin-tight Lycra.

Calling all cyclists.....B@GGER OFF OUR ROADS!!!!!

Have you seen the results of the poll? No, didn't think so. A 50 / 50 split tells me a very different story to what you have concluded. I've got absolutely no problem revealing that I am a frequent cycler and often encounter idiots like you on the road.

Not all cyclists behave in the manner you have described. In fact, in all my years on the road, both in the car and on the bike, there's no bigger 'pest' than the loon that drives at 45 in a 30 zone just to get into work 3 minutes earlier than the rest of us.

Sorry.
