This throwaway line in this article made me chuckle

"He’s even proposing to move staff to smaller desks in order to squeeze more people into his HQ thus saving money on rent"

Anyone else got an image of lots of civil servants crammed in to a room, sat on the excess stock of infant school tables and chairs from the slashed school building program?

Good job too. There's far too many pen-pushers in the Public Sector. I know because I've worked with several over the years.

I wonder what will happen to the dead wood 25%? Straight to permanent worker's bench me feels.
