Lightbulb Weekly Poll - Where does the majority of your contract work reside? (10/09/10)

This has been a week of mixed messages, both in the freelance world and in the wider economy. The bad news is that both RBS and Standard Life are making wholesale cuts to their interim workforce and demand for contractors continues to fall in the public sector.

On the plus side, REC are now reporting the emergence of specific skills shortages for freelance engineers and IT programmers. It is thought however that the vast majority of new contracts will reside in the private sector, which will come as a further blow to those with extensive public sector, yet limited private sector experience.

But what about your own situation - where does the majority of your contract work currently reside?

Feel free to join the debate below...

Private sector - and I thank my lucky stars that it does!

I have two friends that know nothing other than Mod contracting and they are both out of a job by the end of the year.

Private sector and like Clive I'm happy for it to remain that way!

And it's guaranteed to get even more infuriating once the spending cuts kick in!
