Default Man Utd - weakened team?

So I've just heard on the radio that a storm is brewing with Man Utd and whether they will be punished if they field a 'weakened team' for their final game of the season.

Now, I have several problems with this.

1) They have a Champions League final just after this game
2) They wouldn't be doing this in collusion with the other team, so it's not underhand in any way
3) This is Man Utd. To fair, their "second string team" is likely to be stronger than Hull's first team
4) It's the last game of the season. There have been plenty of other games to not be in a relegation position
5) If I was a player I would be a bit annoyed at being referred to as 'weak'

So sod anyone's complaints

I broadly agree. Their "weakened team" is still probably going to be stronger than Hull's first team - I'm sure a lot of them would walk into the starting eleven of most other teams in the league.

And all the other teams have had plenty of times not to be staring at relegation on the final day of the season...

Well, today is the day. I'll certainly be glued to the set to see if the Magpies go down...

It's a terrible thing relegation. I'm a West Brom fan and suffered a bit last weekend. Newcastle have got nobody to blame but themselves. They've spent the last 5 years reacting (and spending) rather than having a long term plan of stability. Mike Ashley must be ruing the day he decided to pump £200m into the club. What a waste of money.

They're down!

After the game, Five Live had the audacity to say 'on the balance of the season Hull should have gone down'.

Sorry, but at the end of the season the table doesn't lie. Typical premiership bias from the pundits.

The Geordies were all calling in saying that they want Shearer to stay, not sure why to be honest.

The language from the media is grating, but it won't get any better. Leeds are still darlings of sports reporters, despite languishing in league one.

I have to say, this weekend was quite funny. Now lets see if they bounce back next season or go into meltdown...

(If they keep Shearer I vote for meltdown)

With a bit of the spotlight back to Man Utd, will any of you be cheering them on tonight?

I have to be completely honest, I believe that I will be watching The Apprentice.

As usual.
