It's that time of year again when the country starts grinding to a halt.

It never ceases to amaze me that this happens year after year as if we've never witnessed snow before! And yet the UK has been getting the white stuff for thousands of years.

You've got to feel sorry for the people you see trudging through the snow to get to work, or standing shivering waiting for a bus that is guaranteed to be late, if it turns up at all. It makes you appreciate the benefits of being a work-at-home freelancer?

But is everybody as lucky as I am? How many freelancers/contractors out there actually have to commute to work in bad weather?
