I've been following this since it broke this morning. Such a shame - it started off as simply lost radar contact, then moved on to confirming that it would have ran out of any fuel so it was definitely lost.
I feel for all the families involved - finding out what happened, and thus preventing this happening again - is looking difficult at the moment with the limited data. I doubt the plane will ever be found although I'm sure wreckage will find its way to some shores.
