Shame on all you that didn't vote.

A good kicking for New Labour! Can we get them out now then?

It all depends on whether one MP has the balls to start a leadership challenge Azeey... I'm sure not many will relish being the one that fired the gun...

Thought they got two in, either way it's extremely bad news.

Labour are done regardless, if Brown were to stand down it could force a general election, the new guy would be the second unelected Prime Minister. Queen may well dissolve Parliament.

If he stays they lose anyway.

I should also note that turnout was down, and I'm sure that I've read that either the votes for the BNP didn't grow or actually went down...

Which emphasises even more why people should have used their vote.

Sorry, that phrase does my nut in. Nobody in this country ever votes for a Prime Minister, they vote for an MP in their local constituency who often happens to be affiliated to a party.

I do agree with you, when you vote, you're not voting for the Prime Minister, that's up to the party, but I don't think most people see it that way. The change over does seem to matter to a lot of people. I didn't vote Labour so it makes little difference to me in those term.

I seem to remember that everyone at the time of the election was well aware of the situation were Blair to get in.

Speaking from a strictly brolly sense Brown in power was not going to do us any favours.

Sorry that wasn't meant to imply doubt, I felt more inclined to trust you than the source who told me they had managed to get 2.

I know where you're coming from, but it's a phrase that is being used in the media and is just shoddy journalism.

Winston Churchill was an unelected prime minister, if one really wants to get picky. As was John Major for a while, but maybe that's a bad example.

The media are up in arms, but they're the ones that gave them all the publicity anyway.

Still, anyone that moans about the BNP getting in that didn't vote deserve to be put on a boat and shipped out.
