Default How difficult is it to sell a football team?

...well?

Well, from reading the news, it's as easy as sending an email to the generic email address:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ed/8088840.stm

Interested parties should contact Newcastle United at admin@nufc.co.uk

Any takers on here? £100 million a little too steep for me, I admit, but I'm sure they'll haggle.

Part of me wants to send them an email pretending to be the lawyer for a bunch of overseas investors and seeing what I get back...

Ashley needs the hamburgers, obviously.

Can't be fun having such a burden in your portfolio, where everyone involved hates you and you can't get rid of the thing for love nor money.

Lets looks at the stats:

Bought for £134.4m
Reportedly spent £250m paying off its loans
Put up for sale for £450m
Asking price slashed to £280m to £300m
Taking off the market
Relegated
Put back up for £100m

****ing ouch.

The bloke who he forced a sale from might buy it back for £60m.

Haha!

And still the saga continues...

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | N | Newcastle | Moat targets Newcastle takeover

The fans can't feel too optimistic about the coming season, surely?

Nope, not looking good for this season....went to the pre-season friendly against Huddersfield a couple of weeks back and we looked just as bad as last season!!

Every day that goes by makes the whole thing worse. Moat is well known in the area but he's not got the cash to fund the working capital needed. Mike Ashley's the problem with an unrealistic asking price. He's asking £100m to take on a £40m overdraft and a club that will run at a £30m loss this season, so the deal is actually £170m for no return.

Not a good investment, even with my rose tinted glasses!

uptonaccountants.com you're one of us. I feel for you!

I haven't caught any of the friendlies (thank god) and won't be there against West Brom today either. Almost want to pretend we're not playing but the BBC only had to televise it!

The clearout has begun, we haven't got a proper manager so god only knows what is going on!

The BBC was one big Newcastle love in on Saturday, from the live game to the highlights after.

Unfortunately, many of the clubs pundits like to call "big" have a history of finding it tough to get back to the highest league....

It's going to be a long season, not replacing players at this late stage will mean less likelihood of a quick return to the top flight. Just a shame Ashley can't see what everyone else is telling him, the club isn't worth what he's asking due to the mess both himself and Freddy Shepherd have created.
