Default Weekly Poll (18/06/09)

Our weekly poll this week is based on our story about a rise in office politics.

Supposedly, as the recession bites, permanent staff in offices up and down the country have higher stress levels than ever as pay freezes and the threat of redundancies hang in the air. This has lead to an increase in office politics, which as a contractor you should be steering well clear of anyway.

Have you noticed an increase in office politics at your client site? Let us know. Feel free to comment below, especially if it has started affecting your work in any way.

Does a fist fight count?

And no, I'm not joking.

The brew round has never been so tense.

The more important people THINK they are, the less often they fill the kettle.

Not an increase. At most of the sites I've worked on the permies were bitchy towards each other to begin with.

Well, imagine the scene. Underling doesn't like the supervisor. Supervisor is on underling's back. Underling punches supervisor. Supervisor does a lame attempt at fighing back. Permies pull them off each other.

Both currently suspended.

It's all fun and games.

But did you stand in the background yelling "fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"?
