Default Christmas party

It's that time of the year again - silly season.

Come on, admit it, how many of you are wondering if going along to the office Christmas party will make you a deemed employee?

Urrghghgh (shudders) - cant think of anything worse. I am really, really wanting massive snow over the next few weeks to stop me being able to attend.

In my experience, staff Christmas parties are the pits...

10 or so employees getting progressively more drunk then talking sh1te for 3 hours.

If it wasn't for the fact that they're technically tax-exempt I would have boycotted the darn things years ago.

Our party will be awesome, you lot are obviously jealous that you only get a tax break and not someone else paying for it.

Sorry, am I missing a trick here? What's all this about Christmas parties and tax breaks? Is this a new thing, an umbrella thing, or can anyone participate?

Sorry, am I missing a trick here? - Yes, it appears so.

What's all this about Christmas parties and tax breaks? - You get to spend £150 tax free on staff entertaining throughout the course of a tax year.

Is this a new thing, an umbrella thing, or can anyone participate? - No, No and Yes.

Also, bear in mind the term of party is flexable. I like to have 'my party' at a hotel somewhere nice in the new year, where they host murder mystery weekend breaks - nice!!! Thank you my Company.
