Default Great first days

Today went well. First day of my new contract about 15 minutes in had just been introduced to the coffee machine...

"Your induction programme starts at 10"
"My.... sorry?"
"Your induction programme"
"Um... I'm not expecting to do an induction programme"
"All new employees do the induction programme"
"Yes, but I'm not an employee"
"It's company rules"

Oh dear... cue a quick trip to contact at client (you could call him my ahem "line manager") to iron this situation out.

Anyone else have any memorable starts to a new contract? (Kudos points if quicker than 15 minutes in)

Getting your ID card is always great fun.

Believe it or not but I was once asked to stand in a separate line (from the first day employees) to wait for my badge.

I made sure that was noted on my IR35 compliance log
