Well, dur...
Dunno about you but I consider myself to be a highly experienced, professional freelancer capable of running my own business, earning my own money and not interested in any of the traditional employmenet benefits since I can source my own.
Sadly HMG and the EU don't understand this attitude and wish to wrap me up in a ball of cotton wool, so that I am forced to accept holiday pay, sick pay, paternity leave and all the other gubbins that I really don't want. And, naturally enough, making more expensive, less employable and less indepedent as a result.
APSCO are right, and are picking up on some ealier themes. The UK freelancer is something of an exception in the EU, but is not recognised as such. Get that recognition and a lot of good things can happen.
