I'm not sure I entirely agree with you, SMG (although it does seem that way, I agree)

Certainly, Hector takes an unhealthy interest in SME tax affairs, but it's likely that the government would have legislated for some sort of 'third way' tax model instead of IR35, back in 2000, if they were hell bent on treating every one man band as a de-facto employee.

That's why I don't favour a third-way tax model. It's bound to be bad news for those that can work IR35 compliantly.
