Angry 25% Rate Cut Today!!!!!

Cannot believe it, literally CANNOT BELIEVE IT!...

Just been into a meeting with clientco, they've bundled all the contractors together to give the brilliant news that it's a 25% (yes 25%!) rate cut across the board. The alternative of course being that we just don't turn up on Monday.

Just tried to phone my agent and he's on holiday until next Wednesday! (you couldn't make it up). I'm seriously considering walking right now...obviously I'll finish this post....

There, it's finished - and so am I.

If it's a week then you need to turn up Monday.

If you have unpaid invoices you don't want to risk a struggle for them getting paid....

What a terrible weekend. I feel very stressed about the prospect of another hour in that place, let alone another week or 6 months (at 75% of my previous rate!!!). No gig is worth this - health and sanity much more important to me.

I've busted a gut for clientco over the last 6 months, working like a dog at times, with very little to show for it. Eventually managed to get through to my agent (who was at home) on Friday. He's apparently "doing what he can" at his end but I don't hold out much hope.

The war chest I’ve built up since Christmas may come in handy after all. Still thinking about my options, still royally p@ssed off they've made me feel like this.

No gig is worth it SMG, do your time and get out of there (provided you can afford it of course).

Good luck, I hope it works out

I've decided to walk but honour the notice period so I’ll be out of here next week. Naturally I’ll ensure there's a disorderly and very confusing hand over.
