"WAYNE ROONEY had a wretched World Cup because he was living in fear of being exposed as a love cheat."

Really?

I thought Rooney had a rubbish World Cup because he's actually not as good as everyone makes out. Just because he's English, the British media think it's a good idea to build him up as "The best in the world" when he's blatantly not.

No doubt this has all gone to his head now. After all, who else pays £1,200 for a hooker and £200 for a pack of Marlboro Lights?

Some chancing b@stard tried to buy a holiday yesterday on the wife's credit card. Fortunately, Lloyds TSB blocked the transaction and gave her a call.

It did get me thinking though. If the transaction had gone through, which she would have then picked up on her statement a few days later, surely the travel agency will have a record of the people that booked the holiday?

I'm talking name, address, telephone number......the works. In fact, since they tried to buy the holiday online, there must have been a web-based form that was pretty much 100% complete before then proceeding to payment. So if that's the case, surely a little digging at the travel agency would reveal the details of these horrible people.

I guess once I have this, all I need to do is phone up a couple of hard-hitting ex-gangsters or even visit www.hardhittingexgangstersforhire.co.uk, and pay the credit card crooks a little visit.

I had in mind the painful removal of something like one finger or one toe for each number on a credit card. What do you reckon?

He is of course under very deluded assumption that people will actually turn up to Wembley tonight for what is one of the least anticipated England games I can ever remember. I personally won't even be watching on TV, even though my shiny new HD television arrived on the weekend.

Is anyone else planning to boycott the game?

It has now been confirmed that from 1st January next year, the payment of travel expenses to a temporary workplace will no longer count as pay for National Minimum Wage purposes. This clarifies what has been a particularly grey area of tax law, and one that some of the more unscrupulous umbrella companies have been using to their advantage in recent years.

The new government highlighted the continued non-compliance of employment businesses, including umbrella companies, within their NMW response document. But will the proposed amendments really weed out bad practice in the umbrella marketplace?

Feel free to join the debate below...

Are cyclists a pest on the road?

I've been meaning to post up a poll on this for a while. Every morning during my commute to the office, without fail, i'm forced to either serve, stop or take drastic action to avoid either killing a cyclist or crashing my car.

Cyclists are, in my honest opinion, an absolute pest on the road. Most of the b@stards ride in tandem with their mates and proceed to have a little 'chat' in the middle of the road whilst causing all manner of traffic queues behind them. The worst are the old men who think it's still ok to dress in tight blue lycra yet cycle ten times slower than every other b@gger on the road.

I say ban cyclists from our roads. Or at least between the hours of 6 - 10am, and then again between 4-7pm. They're a total pain in the @rse. Forget all that environmentally friendly cr@p, it's about time someone spoke up and forced these cretins off our roads.....permanently.

Brandy maker Courvoisier said it had created a “gigantic punchbowl” filled with 1,000 litres of alcohol, “so big you can row across it”.

Assuming cognac is roughly as dense as water, I make 1000 litres equal in volume to 1 cubic metre?

So even if 20cm deep, it would be 225cm * 225cm - hardly big enough to row across?

Sounds like stanard media hype to me - or have I got my maths wrong?

''It is absolutely clear that Raoul Moat was a callous murderer, full stop, end of story. I cannot understand any wave, however small, of public sympathy for this man. There should be sympathy for his victims and the havoc he wreaked in that community. There should be no sympathy for him.''

I've already mentioned (once or twice) how cr@p I think this World Cup has been. I'll start off my list of the reasons why, feel free to chip in:

1. Vuvuzelas
2. The way England played
3. The ball
4. Sepp Blatter (cretin)
5. Goal line technology
6. Lack of good goals
7. The fact that Holland got to the final
8. The fact that the cheating b@stard French team got there at all
9. The form of Torres and Rooney
10. Howard Webb taking charge of the final

At the risk of getting emotional, i've been watching World Cups since 1982 and that, hands down, was the worse pile of horsesh1t since the second Stone Roses album. And that really was horsesh1t.

Roll on the Open...
