My profile details are out of date
You can update, edit or delete your profile details by logging in and selecting ‘edit profile’ from the user toolbar. You are also able to upload a picture of yourself or your company.

I have forgotten my password
When you signed up to freelancesupermarket.com, or when we created a profile for you, confirmation of your password was sent to your registered email address.  If you no longer have these details then click the ‘forgotten your password’ link below where you enter your password on the sign in screen. You will then be able to reset your password. 

An unknown user is using my / my company’s identity on the site
Maintaining the integrity of the profiles and feedback data on our site is our number one priority. Please send an email containing details of who you / your company are and the user registered on our site to profiles@freelancesupermarket.com who will investigate further. 

How can I remove my details from freelancesupermarket.com?
If you would like us to remove your user profile from the site, please send us an email from your registered email address to profiles@freelancesupermarket.com. Your profile will then be removed from the site within 3 working hours.

Please keep in mind that once your profile has been deleted you will not be able to reactivate your account or, retrieve any of the content. If you would prefer to keep your profile as a reference of your work, but not be contacted by other users of the site, there is no need to fully delete your account. Instead, log in to your profile, select ‘contact preferences’ from your account toolbar and ensure that you set all the contact options to ‘no’. 

I believe that I have received malicious feedback what should I do?
The accuracy of the league tables is paramount to the success of our site. We have invested time and money in intelligent software to track any unusual feedback patterns. If you do have any specific concerns about the integrity of feedback you have received, then please email our verification team: profiles@freelancesupermarket.com who will investigate. If a user is found to be leaving malicious or inaccurate feedback, they will be blacklisted from the site and all previous feedback wiped from our systems. 

Can I register with using multiple email addresses?
No. You are only permitted to register one account per email address. This is required to help protect the feedback data by preventing users creating multiple accounts or aliases. In some cases a user may need two separate accounts.  For example if you are a recruitment agent who is also responsible for updating the recruitment agency profile. How is my privacy protected on your site?
We have a comprehensive privacy policy that is intended to protect you when you use our site. We do however require our users to exercise discretion when adding content to their profile. freelancesupermarket.com is structured to ensure that contact and personal information such as: your date of birth, mobile phone number, exact location and e-mail address can not be viewed by other users or, by anyone using external search engines. Our message centre has been designed so that other users can make contact with you without your personal contact information being shared.  

How do I control who contacts me?
In order to control what types of user can contact you, simply login and select 'contact preferences' from the user toolbar, then update the page.

Are users able to see who has viewed their profile?
No, users are not able to see who has viewed their profile.  You are however able to see how many times your profile has been viewed by logging on and selecting ‘profile’ from your user toolbar. 

Will my profile show on search engine results?
Yes.  freelancesupermarket.com is indexed by all search engines. They will look at our site on a regular basis and identify certain key words, content and updates. This process helps search engines deliver relevant results from the key phrases entered into their search facility by web users.

freelancesupermarket.com enables users to showcase their services on the internet. By optimising our site and making it highly visible to search engines we ensure you get maximum visibility of your services. We do not display any contact details on our website or to any search engines. Anybody wishing to contact you must do so by registering on the website and using the internal messaging system. If you do not wish to be contacted, then you are able to block all user groups. 

How do I promote myself using this site?
There are several things you can do to help promote your services on freelancesupermarket.com.  

  • Keep your profile up-to-date, provide details of your latest contract, CV, services, promotions.
  • Request feedback from your contacts. (see what type of users can give you feedback here). Receiving feedback will help increase your ranking and lift you up the league tables.
  • Increase your exposure on the site by contributing in the Forum and, submitting articles or blogs (see below).
  • You can include a link to your profile in email signatures or wherever you like, simply by coping your unique web address from the URL, this will then send people directly to your profile. We have even created a selection showcasing you banners to publish on your website, as your digital email signature or on other forums.

I have a complaint about some of the content on the forum what should I do?
Our forum is intended to be a place for lively but friendly debate and opinions.  If you feel that you have received any posts or replies that are in any way intended to be malicious, then please send a private message giving full details of the posts to a forum moderator, who will investigate and judge whether the content violates our terms and conditions.

Part of the site isn't working
We have conducted a comprehensive technical and usability testing programme to identify as many bugs on the site as possible. The website is still however relatively new and inevitably there may be some bugs that we are working on as you become aware of them. If you have encountered any errors, or you feel that part of the website could be improved then please email us at webmaster@freelancesupermarket.com with as much description as possible.

We apologise if the problems you have encountered have spoilt your enjoyment of using the site. We are working hard to rectify any errors as quickly as possible and we are open to any improvements that you feel we can make.

I am not receiving notification emails
Firstly check that your registered email address is correct by logging in and selecting ‘account’ from your user toolbar. Also ensure that email notifications are switched on in your contact preferences page. If this is correct and you are still experiencing problems then send an email to profiles@freelancesupermarket.com and a member of the profiles team will investigate. 

I have updated my profile but search engine the results show my old details. 
freelancesupermarket.com has no control over the search results found on search engines such as: Google, Yahoo and MSN.  When any content or a users profile is updated on our site, these details will not update immediately on external search engine results. Search engine spiders index our site from time to time, and when their software identifies that content (including your profile) has been updated or removed they will update their search results. Most search engines will spider/index our site every 1-2 weeks however this can take longer; freelancesupermarket.com is not able to speed up this process. 

Where did you get my details from to create a profile?
If your freelancesupermarket.com profile was created for you, you will see that we have pre populated some of your profile information. This information was found across a number of public sources available on the internet. No private sources have been used. You are able to add, edit or delete any of this information as required.

Is my personal contact information shown on the site or in search engine results? freelancesupermarket.com does not display any of your contact details: address, phone number, or email address. Once your profile has been created, visitors to the site can only contact you using our internal messaging system. A notification email will be sent you each time you receive a message or are given feedback on our website.
