Employers are spending too much time on recruitment

Employers are changing their attitude when it comes to recruitment according to TalentPuzzle. They recently published a report that revealed that 86% of companies want to come down on the time they spend on recruitment and recruitment agencies.

This may come as worrying news to recruitment firms as 88% of the survey respondents said they would be increasing their permanent workforce within the next months, but three quarters of employers said that they found it hard to find good recruitment agencies.

Recruitment through agencies can be a very time consuming process, especially if a single vacancy is advertised with multiple recruiters. The employer then has to deal with multiple contracts, negotiations and contracts.

Even though so many companies want to cut down, nearly 75% of businesses who responded to the survey admitted that they might be missing out by limiting their recruitment pool.

Although there are hundreds of recruitment agencies in the UK, only a handful are being utilised and this could affect contractors who are looking for new placements.

It's possible that employers are getting disheartened by the huge increase in the number of applications they receive, a lot of which are totally unsuitable for the advertised vacancy.

With so many people currently out of work, a lot of the unemployed are applying for any vacancy they see in the hope of securing a quick return to the work place.
