REC to hold briefing on Agency Workers Regulations

The Agency Workers Directive has been causing concern for some time amongst both recruiters and freelancers.

Although the regulations are designed to protect agency workers, many contractors fear that there will be less contract opportunities available after implementation.

The discussion will include members of the REC and other recruitment organisations including Semta, the engineering and manufacturing skills council.

The Chair of the engineering and technical group at the REC, Philip Higgins, said that the Confederation always aims to address the main issues that concern members when they hold these briefings.

This discussion will do that by addressing day to day business concerns and looking at the structure of the recruitment industry in the long term.
