Whether you've been to the wars or you're fresh to the freelancing field, experts say that doing what you love is one of the most important ways to be successful.

This may sound like a bit of feel-good folderol but doing what you love is all about finding that spark that makes you passionate for your job and keeps you motivated to do your best work, according to freelance working experts. Doing this can be just as important - or perhaps even more important - than anyhing else you can do as a freelancer, up to and including working on your skills and networking for clients.

It's rather simple, when you get down to it, as the benefits of taking contract work for clients instead of working as a permanent employee can become lacklustre if you're working on something you're truly not enjoying in at least some way. I don't know about you but while it's great to choose your own hours, work from wherever you like, and not having to worry about fighting the crowds every day on your way to and from an office, doing work for a client that you're not enjoying can be like pulling teeth despite the other benefits.

Job satisfaction is incredibly important in other ways as well, especially in the lean times when it may be difficult to find a new project to work on. Freelancers know that it's typiclly feast-or-famine when it comes to their work, and it's easy to feel disheartened and lose hope during a slow month if even when you are working you're completing projects that you're really not enjoying in any way.
