From time to time you may have to give a telephone interview. Whilst these can be a little different, most of the golden rules still apply.
Phone interviews – things to consider:
- Make sure that you have a quiet location set aside where you will be free of disturbances.
- Make sure you have a pen and paper to hand to make notes during the interview.
- Remember that first impressions count - pick up the phone and introduce yourself in a professional manner.
- Be aware of your body language, have good posture, and smile! This may seem unnecessary and as they can’t see you however, they will be able to tell from your voice if you are slouching with your feet up.
