Umbrella Expenses

freelancesupermarket.com - showcasing freelance services

As a flexible employee of an Umbrella Company, you are allowed to offset business expenses against your taxable pay. There are however certain exceptions to this rule.

HMRC has recently taken more of an interest in the use of overarching employment contracts by Umbrella Companies and employment agencies.  It is important to note that any tax liability (and penalties) shall be payable by the contractor where it can be proved that they claimed business expenses that were not deductible for tax purposes. If you have any questions regarding expenses, please visit our freelance forum where help is at hand.
